    Aída Besançon Spencer, Ph.D. (Southern Baptist Theological Seminary), is Senior Professor of New Testament at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, at its Hamilton and Boston campuses. She, with her husband (the Rev. Dr. William David Spencer), has written Joy through the Night: Biblical Resources on Suffering on the four basic types of biblical suffering and the different ways to respond to suffering, and The Prayer Life of Jesus: Shout of Agony, Revelation of Love, A Commentary, as well as eighteen other books, including Beyond the Curse: Women Called to Ministry (Baker, 1985), 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy and Titus, New Covenant Commentary Series (Cascade 2013, 2014), 2 Corinthians, Daily Bible Commentary (Hendrickson, 2007), Paul’s Literary Style (University Press of America, 2007), A Commentary on James, Kregel Exegetical Library (Kregel Academic, 2020), and her latest, The Exegetical Process. She is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Institute of Biblical Research. She and her husband co-edit the Africanus Journal and blog monthly for Applying Biblical Truths Today.
