Very thought provoking review! Taking this a step further, as we are all called to be ministers of the Gospel, I wonder how often each of us miss opportunities (divine appointments) that routinely cross our paths? How often are we more like the Pharisees (for a myriad of seemingly good reasons) missing the very opportunities we have to speak into the lives of others instead of responding like the disciples who learned the value of simply spending time with others and meeting those they encountered at the point of their need? It seems we often overlook that our own spiritual formation is not only for ourselves but also (maybe mostly) for the sake of others - for those we encounter on a day-to-day basis. So, yes, we must talk and live a public life changed by Jesus.
