End Times teacher Jonathan Cahn speaks with PneumaReview.com about his life and ministry and his newly released book, The Oracle: The Jubilean Mysteries Unveiled.

PneumaReview.com: Please tell us about your story. Where do you come from? What has your spiritual journey looked like? What has God called you to be doing in this season of life?

Jonathan Cahn: I’m Jewish, was raised in the synagogue. I became an atheist at the age of 8, when I was 12, I started seeking the truth. I picked up a book on biblical end-time prophecy and it changed by worldview. But I only received the Lord and began following him at the age of 20 after I was hit by a locomotive train.

He’s called me to teach the word of God, proclaim His prophetic word to our generation, write books, lead a congregation, lead an outreach ministry of compassion to the world, and more.

PneumaReview.com: You have been teaching and writing about End Times for many years. Please tell us why you came to see the importance of this topic and your own growth in understanding what God has planned.

Jonathan Cahn: It was end-time prophecy that led me to the Lord. And as we live in the end-times we must be aware of it, the signs, the urgency, and the calling. As for growth, I can only say that revelations were given me concerning America and the world that I wrote down in the books – The Harbinger and The Paradigm.

PneumaReview.com: Preaching about Last Days always seems to draw a crowd, but what can church leaders do today to speak on this topic in ways that lift up God’s truth and not tickle ears?

What does it mean to our lives now? How can we apply it?

Jonathan Cahn: It should never just be about what is going on in the world. It should always be brought home to the person’s life. What does it mean to our lives now? How can we apply it? How can it make us stronger, more passionate, more serious, and on fire for God – and how then shall we live?

PneumaReview.com: Why did you choose to write The Oracle as a dialog? Could you explain who is having this conversation and why?

Jonathan Cahn: The Oracle is overwhelmingly non-fiction overflowing with connections, mysteries, revelations, facts, and reality. As with The Harbinger, the story (in this case of a man called ‘the Oracle’ on a mountaintop, who reveals the mysteries of God) through seven doors of revelation – is only the delivery system. It makes it easier to receive and takes the reader on an adventure.

The book How to Live for God was written by Dr. Denzil R. Miller. He has written several books on the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and in the work of missions.

This book contains the foundational truth for every believer, especially new converts to the Christian faith. The awareness of spiritual birth is of a paramount importance as it ensures a renewed hope in Christ.

Dr. Miller pointed out the importance of assurance of salvation as the genesis of the new birth in Christ. This awareness opens a whole new identity in Christ, a relationship that would be cherished for eternity.

This book contains 7 days of spiritual transformation that would impact a life for eternity, as the Holy Spirit empowers the person to live the new life and become a witness for Christ. Being a believer comes with a big responsibility to share your faith with others (1 Peter 3:15; John 18:37), and to live an exemplary life through the power of the Holy Spirit. Authentic Christianity is a wonderful tool for witnessing for Christ, because when our lives corresponds with our confessions, non-believers would then know that we are serious. In other words, a believer’s life, walk and words all combine as tools for effective witnessing for Christ.

Giving is another aspect of genuine Christian living, because while some individuals can give without loving, a Christian cannot claim to love without giving. Giving to God and also for His work is a way to acknowledge that He is the owner of everything.

“The Christian life is more than a decision to receive Christ as Savior. It is a commitment to follow Jesus all the days of one’s life. Twenty times in the four gospels Jesus called on His disciples to follow Him. He once said, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.’ This book was written to help you fulfill your commitment to follow Christ. It is designed to help you start your new life in Him well.” – from DenzilRMiller.com

Dr. Miller stressed the importance of “means of grace and ordinance and biblical principles,” which believers ought to adhere to in their quest to obey God’s command, and serve one another. Most importantly, every believer is to find their place of service within the body of Christ, for we all are saved to serve.

This publication is good for new believers, for discipleship training/ workshop and anyone who wants to grow in his or her work with Christ.

Not gifts, not healing, not revival—seek the LORD.

Thus says the Lord to the house of Israel, seek Me and live. But do not seek Bethel, nor enter Gilgal, nor cross over to Beersheba. Seek the Lord, and Live (Amos 5:4-6a).

Definition: To “seek the Lord” means that we move from an approach to God that is centered in ourselves with our own self-interests at the forefront, to an approach that is centered in Him with His interests at the forefront of the relationship. We must no longer relate to God on the basis of what He can do for us, but on the basis of how we can know Him and be more fully conformed to His will and purpose.

Here some practical suggestions for making the transition. Understand that I am not suggesting that we should never ask God for anything. But as a matter of principal, we must change our attitude from one that is ego-centered in me and my needs and desires to one that is centered in the Lord, His kingdom, and His will.

Don’t Seek Gifts, Seek the Giver of Gifts

In the early 1950s a certain pastor attended a William Branham crusade and was awed by the miraculous gifts that he saw demonstrated through Brother Branham. This pastor returned home and announced to his wife and congregation that he was shutting himself away in his office to fast and pray until God gave him a ministry like Brother Branham. He fasted for 84 days and died without hearing anything from God. What was the problem? He was not seeking the Lord. His fasting and praying were self-serving. He was seeking a ministry that he thought would give him personal status and prestige. If the modern charismatic movement is to move to the next level of God’s will and purpose, we must move away from an approach to God that is self-serving to one that gives priority to knowing and serving Him.

The LORD ALMIGHTY sent me this message: Say to all your people and your priests, “During those seventy years of exile, when you fasted and mourned in the summer and at the festival in early autumn, was it really for Me that you were fasting? And even now in your holy festivals, you don’t think about Me but only of pleasing yourselves (Zech. 7:4-6).

Don’t Seek Healing, Seek the Healer

When I was 3 weeks old my 7-year-old brother, nicknamed Pete, was run over by a large farming tractor that also pulled the large discs behind it over him. Unconscious and with blood bubbling from his eyes, nose, mouth and ears, my parents rushed him to the nearest hospital where he was examined by three physicians. They all agreed in their assessment that he would not live more than 10 minutes since he had, at least, a broken rib that had punctured a lung.

What is the Anglican Diocese Of The South?

The Anglican Diocese of the South (ADOTS) is part of the Anglican Church of North America (ACNA). This body came about through the disenchantment that many orthodox Episcopalians felt with their mother church. A large faithful remnant of Episcopalians left around 2003 and joined with others who had left even earlier. By 2008, the ACNA was full formed and functioning under its own presiding Bishop (the Very Rev. Robert Duncan) of the diocese of Pittsburgh. The ACNA takes a strong stand on biblical orthodoxy, as expressed in adherence to the traditional creeds. It terms itself a “convergence church.” This means it values and adheres to three streams of Christianity: the liturgical, the evangelical and the charismatic. Individual churches have differing manifestations of convergence. Some are very traditional and liturgical, others more charismatic/Pentecostal. All are evangelical.
