P. W. Baker: Doomed Edifice
Baker utilizes quite a bit of space to cite lengthy quotations from various scholars. At times the quotations serve well to support his line of argumentation, but at other junctures, these lengthy excerpts become tedious to the reader to sift through in an attempt to retrieve the main points. The bibliography is fairly comprehensive for the purpose of this survey and will provide any pastor or student with a good basis for further study. Baker’s inclusion of primary sources serves well to support his historical perspective of such a heated theological debate. Whether one agrees with Baker’s thesis or not, the reader will certainly be challenged to study further the ideas he presents.
