Nicaragua 2019: Reach, Touch, and Bless

From August 3-10, 2019, Trinity United Christian Church of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, traveled on a mission trip to León, Nicaragua. Working with “On Eagles Wings Ministry” in León, our mission included (in the pictures) feeding and serving children, building and painting a new house (our church gave $9,000 to build this house). We also had the opportunity to visit Rose of Sharon Iglesia and worship with the people. Each morning I gave devotions for the fútbol players at the Cameron Williams Johnson Soccer Field in Leon, Nicaragua. There is much of athletic imagery in Paul’s letters for our Christian lives. Discipleship and sports have much in common—discipline, training, and perseverance. That’s what it takes in both sports and the ministry to make it all the way to the goal, with Christ! Matt. 24:13; 1 Cor. 9:24-27; Phil. 3:12-15; 2 Tim. 4:6-8.

Our church’s mission is to reach, touch, and bless our generation for Christ.

The experience was a growing and great time with the Lord and our church. The trip is an essential part of our church’s mission to reach, touch, and bless our generation for Christ which you can read about my new book The Call: My Mission and Our Ministry at Trinity United Christian Church, Lower Burrell, PA.
