N.T. Wright: Jesus and the Victory of God

Throughout this massive work, Wright weaves together the skills of an adroit New Testament scholar, the analytical care of a skilled historian, and the convictions of a serious disciple of Jesus who is not afraid to be surprised by the results. The reader will walk away from this book with not only a sharp understanding of the current dialogue concerning Jesus, but also a new perspective on the revolutionary nature of Jesus’ teachings, mission, death, and resurrection. This book is not just one more voice in the search for understanding who Jesus was and what he was about—it is the most significant re-examination of the life and message of Jesus to date.

Whether or not one agrees with his conclusions, N.T. Wright has advanced the discussion concerning Jesus into refreshing, new territory. Anyone serious about understanding Jesus and his revolutionary mission must give N.T. Wright and his work their utmost attention.
