Lewis Smedes: Standing on the Promises

I felt a little shabby about my hopes when I compared them to Smedes’, but then I never taught ethics and world view and Smedes did so for 28 years. As I closed the book I asked the Lord to again make my hopes reality and to give me the courage to still dream big dreams that will challenge me, our church, community and my God.

Smedes book has great value for those who recognize that they live in a world that we cannot control, but still want that world and its Creator to work for us.
